How are you?
We=B9re thrilled about the forthcoming ZOWIE album. It=B9s coming down the pipe
for spring 2011. ZOWIE will be making her New York City live debut at CMJ
including a performance at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleeker Street btwn
Sullivan & Thompson) on Tuesday, October 19th on stage at 8:00pm.

Coming on like a teenage Joan Jett with a drum machine, all Pulp Fiction
bangs and kaleidoscopic baton swinging,Zowie is a futuristic cheerleader
from planet Wow. A whip-smart 22 year old karate-proficient Antipodean with
a penchant for percussion, a hyperglycemic imagination and a dizzying
creative ferocity.
Described by one music critic in her native New Zealand as =B3a tiny dynamo o=
f
electrifying, positive energy=B2 Zowie has distilled a bubbling mix of vintag=
e
synth-pop, shimmering electro, playground chants and rock n roll swagger to
create a moxy-fuelled sound all of her own.
As a beat-obsessed adolescent Zowie matched her encyclopaedic enthusiasm fo=
r
drumming by mastering everything she needed to fully flesh out her own
songs: vocals, guitar and programming. While studying for a music diploma i=
n
her hometown of Auckland she created enough buzz with laptop crafted demos
to garner airplay on national radio and in the past 18 months she=B9s
performed at some of the country=B9s biggest festivals =AD The Big Day Out,
Rhythm And Vines =AD as well as performing opening sets for the likes of The
Kills and Peaches.=20

Recently signed to Sony Music she released her debut single =B3Broken Machine=

last week in Australia and New Zealand, where it debuted top 5 on the
