<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Georgia","serif";color:black">In early 2010, James and Ingram instantly connected and formed the band after working together on a charity record with producer
<b>Mike Beck</b>. Before that James was writing and demoing a collection of songs, but was still seeking a broader personality and gravitas for the project. Together they seamlessly rounded out their pop sound with rock and roll elements and the two, with Beck
producing, began forging a grander collective that resulted in their buzzed about self-titled EP and now
<i>Twistification</i>. The teaser for the forthcoming record will include the band’s already popular number “<b>Crystal Vases</b>,” which was featured on pair’s 2010 debut EP and spent four-months on
<b><i>Sirius XM Alt Nation’s Top 18 </i></b>countdown, magnetic track “<b>Friday Night</b>,” and of course “<b>Only The Brave</b>.” The twosome recorded the new project as series of short sessions at Beck’s Brooklyn studio between headlining performances,
supporting <b>Zach Williams & The Bellow</b> and a tour with <b>Lovedrug</b>, plus appearing as a musical guest at several events for the nonprofit
<b>To Write Love On Her Arms</b>. </span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt"><span style="font-family:"Georgia","serif";color:black">For
<i>Twistification,</i> the group reworked virtually all of James’ original songs to create an album with a narrative flow. “Musicians hold to this idea that people still listen to albums, even though they probably don’t anymore,” James says. “But there’s something
beautiful about that ideal, and it drives me as a songwriter. I believe the album has a beginning, middle, and an end. There’s a natural arc of tension, chaos and finally release.” </span><span style="color:black"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Georgia","serif";color:black">And it’s not just about the music. James’ original concept of the songs as a “soundtrack for the urban lifestyle” remains the defining core of The Last Royals. Shimmering pop melodies
are extorted from and set against real life experiences in NYC - skateboarding for groceries, taking artistic photos on a rooftop, or capturing videos in the park - that help to showcase their secondary passions and become another aesthetic for The Last Royals
and their music. The songs that appear on the three-song teaser and<i> Twistification</i> merge all these influences together. They’re tracks that generate both thought and movement, suggesting that pop music can literately be intelligent while still resonating
