[Promo 4 High Res Jpeg Kirstin Burns]Renowned music publishing company, Sony/ATV has announced the relaunch of Hickory Records to support the release of Lenka's forthcoming album The Bright Side. The upcoming LP will be released on June 16th via Hickory Records/RED Distribution in conjunction with Lenka's own label Skipalong Records. The idea came about when Lenka's manager, Ron Shapiro, suggested to Sony/ATV's co-president, Danny Strick, that Hickory - along with RED to distribute - release The Bright Side in North America. Shapiro thought it was a perfect match, since Sony/ATV had been so successful with Lenka. The publishing company has secured more than 200 synchs for her songs and nearly 70 of them for "The Show," the first single off Lenka's eponymous 2008 debut album.

"We've had such luck with synch over the years that we felt this would be a really good opportunity to help Lenka break a single in radio and do the marketing that's required to bring her to a wider audience," says Strick.
Lenka tells Billboard, "The deal represents peace of mind. I don't have to feel that sort of fear of everything falling apart or people changing guard and then losing interest in me because I know that we've got a great thing going on."

On May 27th Lenka will perform on VH1 Big Morning Buzz to promote her forthcoming album and North American tour. Current tour dates listed below.
