The worldwide recording is fitting to the fact the album covers such a vast array of genres of music, including electronic, urban, reggae, hip-hop, dance and even punk elements. Toy and Camilo’s monster vision for the album started as a passion years ago when the two wanted to work together with musicians they had always admired, but were a bit outside the DJ realm. "This project has been a mystical quest trying to prove that there is only one dance floor across the globe,” says Camilo. “Couldn’t have found a better partner in crime than Toy for it."
For the artists who collaborated on Compass it effortlessly became such an amazing experience, since they too stepped outside their “normal” recording zone and discovered new strengths of their own within the process. “This album is like our PHD thesis on global music production,” says Toy.
The LP’s release will be accompanied by an extensive world tour (tour dates to be announced soon), plus a five-episode web series produced by Red Bull Media House who captured the entire recording process. The web series will feature exclusive behind the scenes footage, interviews and more.
Camilo and Toy over the years have produced numerous projects together, including the groundbreaking album by Los Angeles Azules entitled Cómo Te Voy a Olvidar. Cómo Te Voy a Olvidar is the #1 album in Mexico for a record breaking total of 72 weeks and was nominated for a GRAMMY Award in 2014.
