The Wombats Announce Winner of Twitter Contest

Exclusive Performance in Charlotte, NC for One Lucky Fan

Los Angeles, CA- September 24th , 2012- Liverpool's talented trio, The Wombats have announced the lucky winner of their Wombats Twitter contest is Jayna Doyle.  As you can see in the results, (http://map.thewombats.co.uk/) Jayna Doyle and her friends crushed the competition by collecting the most votes in their region by vigorously tweeting 'to vote' for their city.  Thanks to Jayna Doyle's dedication, Charlotte, NC now has the exciting opportunity to have an exclusive party with The Wombats on Monday, September 24th while the band makes a stop in town to play at the Visulite Theatre.

In anticipation of their 32 date US Tour, The Wombats launched a nationwide Twitter contest in order to meet as many fans as possible and connect with one special individual.  Voting kicked off on August 24th and fans all over the country had the chance of a lifetime to vote for their own town/city to win a private show with The Wombats.  Fans were able to select their city from a special interactive map<http://map.thewombats.co.uk/> on the band's website, and then tweet to win the opportunity for the band to show up in their living room.

The tour is in support of their new hit single, "Jump Into The Fog"  off their highly-acclaimed album, This Modern Glitch (Bright Antenna/ILG). "Jump Into The Fog"  has been one of the band's biggest airplay records ever in the UK and Australia, marking their sixth Top 40 single overseas. The single is proving to have similar success in the U.S. - not only did it reach #1 on Sirius XM's "Alt Nation" countdown, but it just surpassed the Top 15 mark on the Alternative Chart.  Also, "Jump Into The Fog" has been playing in a strong rotation in Charlotte, NC on WEND 106.5 FM.
