New York, NY - June 27, 2012 - Los-Angeles-based trio Kyle McNeill & the Stumble are pleased to announce the release of their self-titled debut EP on August 7th. The trio is made up of songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Kyle McNeill, Lewis Pullman on drums and Jason Hiller on bass. The debut effort was also produced by Jason Hiller, who recorded it entirely on analog eight-track. This summer, they will be playing shows in Los Angeles and New York. Full list of performances below. This is rock n roll at its most raw and classic state.

Born and raised in Venice, CA, Kyle and longtime friend Lewis Pullman began playing music together as kids. The self-taught, multi-instrumentalists stayed close when Kyle left high school early to attend college, and picked up their musical rapport when Kyle returned to California in 2011. It wasn't, however, until they met up with seasoned producer/bass player Jason Hiller that Kyle McNeill & the Stumble's sound began to take shape. With Hiller's experience (playing in bands like Freewheelers and The Relationship) behind the young, but immensely talented pair, new songs flowed effortlessly and they entered the studio to make their first album.

Taking cues from Americana, jazz, rock n roll, and the blues, the band's songs showcase Kyle's depth and maturity as a songwriter. From the country-tinged "I Was Happy" to the classic blues-rock jam "Strokin It Off," no musical style should be discounted in his repertoire. As Kyle explains, "Every genre has a certain soul and a certain character-it's just about whether or not you get along with that character." Kyle's musical influences span several decades - musicians like Hanks Williams, Robert Johnson, and Chuck Berry. As evident in his lyrics, his other love comes from literature. Throughout high school, Kyle worked in a local bookstore reading everything he could get his hands on. Authors such as Joan Didion, Richard Brautigan, and Harry Crews were being read while this album was made.

The five songs on Kyle McNeill & the Stumble's debut EP serve as a brilliant introduction to a powerful new young voice in music, one skilled at writing a timeless melody. If this offering is any indication, Kyle has a bright future as singer and songwriter.
