Today, Australian born and LA-bred singer-songwriter and guitarist Aaron Hendra and his band the Aaron Hendra Project<http://www.aaronhendra.com/>, are thrilled to announce the digital release of their Alive EP!  The deluxe version of the EP - that's available exclusively at iTunes HERE<http://budurl.com/AHPAlive> - also includes the single's music video, which premiered yesterday on ArtistDirect.com and stars actress Cameron Richardson of CSI and Entourage, and a stunning acoustic rendition of the new track. To celebrate the digital release of their powerful, new rock EP, and the "Alive" music video premiere, Hendra will give a special performance tonight (July 10th)  at the Viper Room in Los Angeles.

Hendra believes in second chances - and the singer has been given plenty of them over the last ten years. Back when he was a young aspiring songwriter, he left a demo with a receptionist at Aussie superstar John Farnham's label, which was initially ignored. Six weeks later, Hendra received a call from Farnham himself saying he wanted to record Hendra's song "Don't Let It End." Years later, when a development deal with Warner Bros. Records collapsed and a finished album for Hollywood Records was shelved, a chance meeting with entrepreneur Rick St. George led to the financial means for Hendra to give up his construction job, build a state-of-the-art studio in Beverly Hills, launch the independent label Give Records, and record the Aaron Hendra Project's Alive.

"Those second chances are what kept me going," Hendra says. "Just when having a career playing music seemed impossible, another door would open. That inspired me to keep going to the point where it almost seemed crazy. But from an early age, I truly believed I could write hit songs and I was stubbornly determined not to give up."

Fast forward to late 2010, Hendra got to know Sam Childers, AKA the "Machine Gun Preacher." Childers, a former biker/drug dealer-turned-preacher and founder of Sudanese orphanage life story was made into a 2011 movie starring actor Gerard Butler, invited Hendra to be part of his reality show, The Last Ride. The show was about nine strangers - including Childers, Hendra and Hendra's drummer Greg "Gigi" Gonaway (Gigi is also a founding member of The Aaron Hendra Project) - who traveled 2,700 miles across seven states over 12 days on Harley-Davidsons. "I wrote 'Alive' during that trip," Hendra says. "I was missing my wife and came up with the whole song in my head while on my bike and sang it for everyone at the campfire one night," Hendra says. "It's an emotional song. Some artists are scared to write that way because they think it's sappy, but there's a fine line between sappy and heartfelt, which is what I think 'Alive' is."
