After growing up on the same street in Hailey, Idaho the Gus + Scout lost touch only to be reunited at Brown University. Once together again, the two unearthed their lost connection through music and songwriting. Ultimately, they created Gus + Scout EP, a five song collection of emotional, country-inflected folk rock tunes that highlight Gus' sense of melodic skill as a vocalist and guitarist and Scout's arrestingly sublime voice. Most of all, the release showcases the honest and natural ease of the duo's songwriting. On tracks like "Don't Bother You Much" and "Gone, Gone, Gone," you can hear the forlorn country influences of their heroes and heroines including Jim Reeves, Gram Parsons, Barbara Dane and Karen Dalton.
