Bass Drum Of Death's garage punk tunes are best known for turning their live audience into a sweaty, rambunctious crowd who gets wild. Noisey.com captured the pure mayhem caused by the band's energetic performance at Salt Lake City's favorite dive bar Urban Lounge.  But when you have a band name like Bass Drum Of Death, would you expect anything less? The trio, who hails from Oxford, Mississippi, are practically neighbors to their label, tastemakers Fat Possum Records. In fact singer John Barrett was once Fat Possum's worst employee, but the day he presented the Bass Drum Of Death project, their label heard the undeniable sound, signed the band, and released their debut LP GB City, which came out earlier this year. The band is currently on a major city tour this fall in support of the album.

Additionally, Noisey.com, along with Austin's beloved The Black Angels, caught up with the rising Texas rockers Shapes Have Fangs who recently released their acclaimed album Dinner in the Dark.
The Black Angels, who booked Shapes Have Fangs to play their Austin Psych Fest back in 2009, were so impressed by their performance, they signed the five-piece to their label, Reverberation Appreciation Society.  Noisey.com provides the first look inside of Shapes Have Fangs' own state of the art recording facility, Laguna Studios in Austin. The band hit up Antone's Records with Noisey.com, and explained how their first recordings were on karaoke machines with sample-based hip-hop beats from old records they would buy from Antone's.
