(Dec. 7, 2011 - New York, NY) A banner year wraps up for Mercury Records group Neon Trees, as they follow the success of their debut album HABITS - featuring their RIAA double platinum #1 Alternative debut single "Animal" - with the announcement of a new album upcoming in 2012, and the release of a new advance single "Everybody Talks." The track blasts out to Alternative radio today, December 7th, and can be heard online thanks to RollingStone.com. Click HERE<http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/neon-trees-song-premiere-everybody-talks-20111207> to listen to the track. Additionally, "Everybody Talks" will be for sale at all digital retailers on December 20th. This marks Neon Trees' first project with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen (who has worked previously with Beck, Garbage, Nine Inch Nails, and M83).

Neon Trees was the alternative success story of 2010 and 2011, as "Animal" hit #1 Alternative and #1 Hot AC and top 10 Pop, netting worldwide digital sales of more than 2 million copies. "Animal" beat out Mumford & Sons, Florence + The Machine, and Linkin Park as Top Alternative Song at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, and had the distinction of being covered by both Taylor Swift and Train, as well as Glee's 'Dalton Academy Warblers.' The song was everywhere, and won Neon Trees A-list roadwork status with My Chemical Romance on their World Contamination Tour; and Duran Duran on their All You Need Is Now stadium tour.

After being named Best New Band of 2010 by the influential website absolutepunk.net, Neon Trees made a clean sweep of major daily television shows over the next year - NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (3 times!) and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon; CBS's The Late Show with David Letterman; ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live and Live with Regis & Kelly; and TBS's Conan

"Animal" was followed up with two more single releases from HABITS, "Your Surrender" and "1983." The two songs were later featured in the movie soundtrack for Prom, from Walt Disney Pictures (portraying "the precarious passage from high school to independence as some relationships unravel and others ignite"). Neon Trees shot the video in Los Angeles for "Your Surrender" with the emerging ensemble cast of the movie. "Your Surrender" was utilized in all the tv spots for Prom; while "1983" was used in all the trailers.

Neon Trees bandmates Tyler Glenn and Elaine Bradley also had a memorable session back in November 2010 on Live from Daryl's House, the free monthly webcast show. They joined host Daryl Hall for a six-song set that included "Adult Education" and "Head Above Water," from the classic Hall & Oates album, Private Eyes. Daryl and the band also performed four songs from HABITS, including "Animal," "1983," "Love and Affection," and "Farther Down." The complete show is archived at http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/archive.html.

It will be nearly two years since the March 2010 release of HABITS, which went on to reach #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, where it spent 73 weeks. Neon Trees - Tyler Glenn (lead vocals, keyboards), Chris Allen (guitars), Branden Campbell (bass), and Elaine Bradley (drums, vocals) - were featured on USA Today's influential "On The Verge" page ("Maximum Wattage Beamed Out Of Provo, Utah"). They were also named Artist Of The Week at RollingStone.com, which raved: "HABITS is filled with Eighties pop meshed with bombastic alt-rock choruses - like the Killers playing backup for Duran Duran. 'Your Surrender' is a U2-style sing-along, '1983' is a bratty dose of keyboard-driven pop punk and Hot 100 single 'Animal' is an irresistibly catchy lovesick dance tune."
