NEW YORK, NY (August 9, 2011)-Today Dell and Intel unveiled Special Engagements, a new global concert series where fans control the show. The monthly series is grounded in a technology-driven audience experience, which gives fans the power to collaborate with the performing artist before and during the show. Together, they will produce a once-in-a-lifetime event that is streamed live across the world.

Special Engagements will take tuned-in music devotees to seven unexpected global locations for unique events featuring popular artists from around the world. The series kicks off August 20 in Austin, Texas at the famed Lustre Pearl with Brooklyn-based urban pop sensation Theophilus London and host Telli from Ninjasonik. Following the inaugural Engagement, the series will travel to the U.K., Germany, China, Brazil and France before returning to the U.S.

This new initiative from Dell and Intel aims to bring audiences and bands closer than ever before in a series of unique experiences. Performing artists will invite fans to command aspects of the show, from music selection and shout-outs to wardrobe, lighting and set design. Engagement via social media feeds will transform the global audience from mere spectators to directors, calling the shots and shaping the show they want to watch, as they watch it. It's this ability to determine aspects of the show that makes Dell and Intel Special Engagements so unique.

For this first engagement, fans will determine which exclusive remix Theophilus London debuts during his set; send in visual interpretations of his album to accompany the performance; submit for shout-outs; and even decide the shirt he wears on stage. Leading up to the debut event in Austin, they will determine factors of the performance via polling widgets, Twitter and Facebook.

Each Special Engagement will also feature a notable and dynamic host who will serve as a bridge between the artists and their fans. For the launch in Austin, friend and collaborator of Theophilus London, Telli from Ninjasonik will use a Dell XPS high-performance laptop with 2nd generation Intel(r) Core(tm) processor technology to communicate with artist and audience, bringing the engagements to life. Dell and Intel enable this interaction by providing technology and providing on-site expertise.

Fans can tune into www.noisey.com/SpecialEngagements<http://www.noisey.com/SpecialEngagements> to learn how to attend and call the shots.

An edited long-form documentary of each Special Engagement will air on Noisey.com following the event.

Theophilus London, the artist who kicks-off the series, stated "I'm really excited to work with Noisey on this special series. I've got a few friends coming along and a handful of surprises up my sleeve...not just for the lucky fans at the show in Austin but for everyone checking it out live online. TIMEZ will be weird!"

"Dell consumer solutions provide the ultimate in self-expression, and through our relationship with NOISEY, helps music lovers connect with their favorite artists and discover new ones," said Michael Tatelman, Vice President of North American sales and marketing for Dell's Consumer, Small and Medium Business unit. "The Special Engagement concert series, which celebrates the combination of music and technology, comes to life beautifully on powerful systems like our XPS family, which offers the best in HD video and audio for truly unparalleled experiences."

We are thrilled to see the Noisey platform further invite audience participation in the performances by artists worldwide," said Director, OEM Co-Marketing Valerie Wilkinson of Intel. "The Special Engagement series is one more way Intel, Dell and VICE are innovating for the music community through technology that is both unique and captivating."

Eddy Moretti, Executive Creative Director of VICE said, "Live music is magical. The artists and musicians that pour their hearts and souls into their work, these people are magical. And beautiful. And very, very special. That's why we at Dell, Intel and VICE created Noisey. And that's why we created this revolutionary new live music show, "Special Engagements." We want to bring people closer to the wonder of the live music experience. It is wondrous. Long live rock and roll and all the other genres too."

Noisey.com, a new music discovery platform from VICE and founding partners Dell and Intel, is dedicated to uncovering the best new bands and music scenes from around the world, giving viewers unparalleled insight into the lives of bands both on and off the stage. The Special Engagement series advances that goal by capturing the complete live music experience both online and offline, and uniting music fans across the globe to run the show on their terms.

Noisey.com launched in March 2011 at SXSW. To date, the site has profiled over 100 bands from 10 countries in more than 450 captivating original episodes.
