Laura Marling Debuts Video for “Sophia”

It’s been just a couple of weeks since the world got its first breathtaking taste of Laura Marling’s forthcoming third album, A Creature I Don’t Know (Ribbon Music) in the form of “Sophia”, available now from digital retailers. Ms. Marling is now pleased to present the visual accompaniment with the premiere of her stunning music video.

Striking in its delivery and endlessly captivating in its story-telling, “Sophia” delivers new riches with each and every play. The video, directed by long time collaborators Fred & Nick, was shot in a remarkable old church in Buenos Aires while Laura was there playing a few shows earlier this year. The warmth of her voice fills the halls and spires as the vibrant instrumentation of her backing band resonates off of the dark mahogany walls. 21-year old English troubadour Laura Marling picked up the BRIT Award for Best British Female Artist, which was quickly followed by the NME Award for Best Solo Artist. A Creature I Don’t Know will be released on Ribbon Music on September 13th and is already garnering the most enthusiastic reviews of her career.

Early Praise for A Creature I Don’t Know:

“A Creature I Don’t Know ebbs and flows beautifully, navigating emotional whirlpools with deft twists…her star power remains undiminished. (4 Stars) - Q Magazine

“Laura Marling’s third album is less a total reinvention than a subtle maturation, a stretching out to the extent of her reach in all directions…. it’s also a record with more weight, darkness, humour and playfulness than ever before, her rockiest and jazziest moments yet, but also her most accessible sound.” – NME
