RACHEL GOODRICH ANNOUNCES SUMMER TOUR
Highlights Include Hotel Caf=E9 Residency, Headlining Mercury Lounge & =
Rothbury, Wanderlust and Monolith Festivals

Set to Record New Album with Greg Wells
"[Her] gin-clear voice as she led her band through [a] kind of =
controlled hootenanny has made her the queen of the Miami indie rock =
scene." -The New York Times=20
"Entirely self taught, she's blessed with a wide, beautiful smile, a =
natural curiosity and a humble-yet-electrifying stage presence that =
instantly charms." -Ocean Drive Magazine
Miami's "shake-a-billy" pioneer Rachel Goodrich takes to the road this =
summer for a North American tour behind her current album Tinker Toys. =
The 21 date tour begins June 15th in Charlotte, North Carolina and finds =
the delightfully twee, tremendously imaginative singer making stops at =
the Rothbury, Wanderlust and Monolith Festivals alongside artists such =
as Bob Dylan, Broken Social Scene, Jenny Lewis, Girl Talk, M.Ward and =
Deer Tick.
=20
Goodrich will cap off the cross country tour with a four week residency =
at Los Angeles's Hotel Caf=E9. While in the Golden State, Goodrich is =
headed back into the studio to record the follow-up to her 2008 debut =
with GRAMMY nominated producer/songwriter Greg Wells (Katy Perry, Mika, =
P!nk & Rufus Wainwright).=20
=20
In a cover story in the Miami Herald's Entertainment section, Wells =
recounted how he discovered Goodrich through her MySpace and has agreed =
to produce her record pro-bono. ''I truly think she might be one of the =
great new talents,'' Wells said. ``Her writing is 10 steps ahead of what =
most people are doing. Even though it's not super commercial, I think =
the music is so good it might actually be a hit. The music becomes so =
infectious, and there's a confidence and a silliness that's so great.''
=20
For a preview of the new material please check out a live version of =
"Hold On," recently recorded for WLRN in Miami: =
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DhgzKfFiRd84.=20
=20
Fit to soundtrack the next Wes Anderson movie, Tinker Toys conveys a =
fiercely playful and witty individuality akin to that of Regina Spektor =
dusted with playful storytelling reminiscent of Johnny Cash. Both "The =
Black Hole," a xylophone and handclap musing on fleeting time, and the =
hopelessly upbeat "Light Bulb" decorated with horns, whistles and even a =
mariachi band, portray an unbridled optimism in Rachel's music. =
"Terminal Song," is a ukulele, toe-tapper set in an airport waiting room =
bolstered by a flirty kazoo solo. Goodrich coined the term =
"shake-a-billy" to characterize her sound which is stamped firmly on the =
album's cheekiest track, "Dope Song." =20
