<b>Philip Glass</b> who also performed. <b>Chuck</b> <b>Close, Uma Thurman, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard
</b>and<b> Arden Wohl </b>were<b> Honorary Chairpersons </b>for an unforgettable night that further solidified the Tibet House US Benefit Concert as one of the most exciting annual events on New York City’s cultural calendar.<b>

<b>Iggy Pop</b> and synth-pop trailblazers <b>New Order</b> joined forces on stage, while
<b>Sufjan Stevens</b> contributed vocals on a few songs with <b>The National. Stevens,
</b>guitarist <b>Bryce Dessner</b> (The National) and brilliant young American composer
<b>Nico Mulhy</b> performed selections from their project <b>Planetarium. </b>Mulhy also joined
<b>Philip Glass</b>, playing side-by-side together on a baby grand piano for Glass’ captivating song “The Chase.”

<b>Joe Duddell.</b> The pair set Garry’s celebrated ode to legendary Factory Records owner, Anthony H. Wilson, to music. The musical version of “Saint Anthony,” is inspired by “Your Silent Face” by New Order, one of the many legendary bands that Wilson signed.
New Order was on hand to<span style="color:#1F497D"> play along to the poem with lead singer</span>
<b>Bernard Sumner </b><span style="color:#1F497D">on a melodica</span>. <span style="color:#1F497D">
</span>The night also featured beautiful pieces by <b>Robert Randolph</b>, <b>Patti Smith</b> & her Band,
<span style="color:#1F497D">plus a remarkable performance by </span>Tibetan folk artist
