(October 9, 2014 - New York, NY) - As Blondie's 40th Anniversary year rolls on, the band's co-founder and acclaimed photographer Chris Stein has joined the 3rd Annual CBGB Music & Film Festival to exhibit his rare and iconic photos, on view beginning tonight October 9th from 6-11pm, and October 10th and 11th from 11am-11pm at CBGB Gallery at Center548 (548 West 22nd Street). The gallery space is open to the public, and festival tickets along with CBGB-inspired merchandise will be available for purchase in the gallery space throughout the CBGB Festival. The first 50 gallery guests to arrive tonight will gain entry to Billy Idol's anticipated keynote address and acoustic performance.  The exhibit is happening in conjunction with the release of Stein's celebrated book of photography and anecdotes, Chris Stein/Negative: Me, Blondie, and the Advent of Punk (Rizzoli), which recently became the #1 photo book on Amazon and follows a wildly successful Blondie exhibition of photos and band memorabilia at Hotel Chelsea Storefront Gallery, which wrapped earlier this week after being extended due to popular demand.

Stein's beautiful and unique coffee-table book of photography, "Chris Stein/Negative: Me, Blondie, and the Advent of Punk," offers a revealing look back at one of the most influential bands of our time and also provides a look at the larger historical and global context of the music scene that they pioneered. Stunning photographs and paintings will be showcased in the 8,000 square foot CBGB gallery, highlighting the culture of CBGB in its various stages and covering the birth years of the punk rock and new wave movements through to the current decade. The collection of Stein's photos on display include incredible images of Blondie, Debbie Harry, Joey Ramone, Iggy Pop, The Heartbreakers, Richard Hell and The Voidoids and many more, allowing visitors to peek into the past life of CBGB. The artists responsible for these photographs and paintings range from the door person at CBGB's in the late 70's to some of the most well-known and respected photographers in the music industry today.
