[Hamilton Leithauser photo by Lauren Dukoff 72450001_crop - LR.JPG]The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser is performing FOUR special shows over TWO nights at Joe’s Pub on April 15th andApril 16th (7:30pm + 9:30pm) where his debut solo album, Black Hours, will be premiered live.  Black Hours is being released on June 3rd (Ribbon Music) and features Leithauser with a slew of talented collaborators including Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend), Paul Maroon (The Walkmen), Morgan Henderson (Fleet Foxes) and Richard Swift (The Shins/solo). Check out the music video for the album’s first single - “Alexandra<http://smarturl.it/alexandravideo>.” Last week, Leithauser released a second video to the track “11 O’Clock Friday Night<http://smarturl.it/11oclockvideo>,” which was directed by Paul Maroon and includes vocals from Amber Coffman of the Dirty Projectors. Dan Croll released highly-anticipated debut album Sweet Disarray on Capitol Records April 1st, which NPR praised as “full of cheeky pop and infectious harmonies,” and the BBC exclaimed, “More ideas in one or two songs than most people come up with in one album." WE ARE SCIENTISTS*Friday, April 18th @ Bowery Ballroom – 10pm
[cid:image003.jpg at 01CEC59B.26583200]On Friday April 18th, We Are Scientists will bring their spring tour to their hometown of New York City for a show at the Bowery Ballroom. They are supporting the release of their fourth LP TV en Français, which was released onMarch 4th, 2014 on Dine Alone Records. The collection was produced by Chris Coady (Beach House, Smith Westerns, Yuck) at Magic Shop in NYC and recorded with frequent drummer Andy Burrows (previously of Razorlight). TV en Français showcases the full musical prowess of We Are Scientists. The band keeps the energy of the album high, from the guitar-heavy opener, “What You Do Best,” to the booming closing chorus of “Take An Arrow.” Standout track “Dumb Luck” demonstrates the band’s innate ability to write an explosive, visceral guitar riff, while “Don’t Blow It” features a buoyant melody coupled with their signature lyrical panache.
