At only 23 years old, she has already won a BRIT award (the British Grammy – for Best British Female in 2011) and NME Award (for Best Solo Artist 2011).Once I Was An Eagle gave Marling her biggest chart debut in both her native UK and in the US won her an avalanche of critical acclaim, withRolling Stone joining the chorus of praise by asking “Is Laura Marling The New Joni Mitchell?”. The band will be celebrating the release of Mountains Beaches Cities, via BMG the same day. XPN calls it their “best album yet.” The five-piece raucous live show, and rapidly growing fan base, has helped land them debut performances over the past year at major music festivals such as: Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, FireFly, Hangout and Forecastle. VIOLENT FEMMES * Thursday, September 12th @ Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield

[VF-NewPhoto50]Live Nation and Josh Wood Productions are thrilled to announce that Violent Femmes will be playing a very special NYC show at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield on September 12, 2013. This show marks the band’s first performance in Manhattan since 2004, and will be their only Northeast show of the year!  One of the founding fathers of Alternative Rock, Violent Femmes, made their highly-anticipated comeback this year after a three year hiatus, reuniting to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California in April. This Central Park performance is sure to bring on the hits – including the classic “Blister in the Sun” - you do not want to miss out on this epic, once-in-a-lifetime, East Coast performance!
