BAD RABBITS * February 21st @ Knitting Factory
Bad Rabbits are kicking off a run of select shows at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn.  This genre-smashing musical force will fully unleash their post-R&B futuristic funk-punk assault in the form of their anticipated debut album American Love on May 14, 2013. With a high-octane live show that encompasses Dua's soulful falsetto, flashes of old-school synchronized dance moves and bone-rattling hardcore musical antics, it is no surprise that the band has opened for the likes of Wu-Tang Clan, Passion Pit, Deftones, Travie McCoy and played the Vans Warped Tour. TIBET HOUSE US BENEFIT CONCERT * February 21st @ Carnegie Hall
Curated by artistic director Philip Glass, the 23rd Annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert line-up will bring incredible performances and one-time-only collaborations to the Carnegie Hall stage from Jim James, Patti Smith with her Band, tUnE-yArDs, Ariel Pink, Rahzel, Ira Glass, Tenzin Choegyal and Philip Glass. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, and Uma Thurman are the event's Honorary Chairpersons this year. For 22 years, this one-of-a-kind concert has assembled some of the biggest names in music, offering a unique mix of musical collaborations and solo performances from the likes of Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Paul Simon, Sheryl Crow, Sigur Ros, Bright Eyes, R.E.M., Regina Spektor, Rufus Wainwright, Vampire Weekend, Emmylou Harris, Ray Davies and The Roots. Proceeds from ticket sales go to support the work of the Tibet House US as well as the Hurricane Sandy Relief Foundation and the Tibetan Community of New York & New Jersey.
