Already well-renowned for their live show prowess, The Citizens Band came together in the studio for the first time this year under the expert guidance of acclaimed producer Nathan Larson, and executive producer Linda Carbone. A portion of the album profits are being donated to The National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics<http://www.nafcclinics.org/>, a non-profit association of community-based, free medical clinics in the U.S. who serve uninsured Americans while also performing public policy advocacy.

About The Citizens Band:
Since bursting onto the New York City nightlife scene in 2005, The Citizens Band garnered high praise for their riveting and artful approach to tackling our nation's most pressing political themes. Their elaborately staged original productions, complete with feathered show girls, beautiful costumes, trapeze artists, singers, dancers and musicians, take cues from European cabaret and American vaudeville where the fun and bawdy are mixed with a keen awareness of socio-political and economic issues. With an eclectic line-up that includes a soap opera actor, a Queens' public school teacher, a supermodel, a Swedish pop star and a Hollywood ingénue, it's no wonder that NYC style bible Paper Magazine called them "the most appealing nightlife act to hit downtown in a long, long time." With the likes of Maggie Gyllenhaal, Zooey Deschanel, Cyndi Lauper and Melissa Auf Der Maur all having lent their talents to the troupe in the past, The Citizens Band have shown that political anxiety can be channeled into glamorous and entertaining art, and, most importantly, inspire participation in the democratic process.
The Citizens Band is:
Karen Elson, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Zoe Kravitz, Nina Persson, Rain Phoenix, Ian Buchanan, Jorjee Douglass, Rachelle Garniez, Michael Cavadias, Adam Crystal, Mark McAdam, Paul Cantelon, Dave Lebleu, Mr Blue, Turner Cody, Mike Jackson, Angela McCluskey, Amy Miles, Jon Natchez, Jeff Palmiotti, Matt Ray, Ronin, and Leah Siegel.
Praise for The Citizens Band
"...a political outlet for otherwise nonpolitical types. The elaborately staged shows take on topics like environmentalism and health care in a setting that resembles a snow globe nightclub. The group's shows are politically pointed but still offer a glitzy thrill." - The New York Times
"At this very moment the laurels of New York City's avant-garde nightlife rest firmly on the head of The Citizens Band. The 20-plus-member theater troupe carries an emotional and visual jolt. Presented in the style of Weimar Republic cabaret, their performances beg the chilling question: Have we found ourselves again in a political climate where intolerance triumphs over reason?" - Interview Magazine
"The overall effect: a little bit Brechtian agitprop, a touch Warholian factory, with a sprinkling of Baz Lurmann's La Bohéme and a circus sideshow stirred in." - Harpers Bazaar
