Brooklyn four-piece, CHAPPO<http://www.chappomusic.com/> announces the release of their debut LP Moonwater on May 15th via Majordomo Records - an imprint of Shout! Factory that has released albums by The Airborne Toxic Event, the Von Bondies and Earlimart. An anthem song for rabble-rousers, "What Are You Kids On?" is rich with guitarist Dave Feddock's magnetic riffs, and lead singer Alex Chappo's incomparable vocals.
Moonwater is a follow up to the band's two buzzed about EPs, Plastique Universe and Plastique Universe II: Pisces Princess.  In 2010, CHAPPO garnered national attention with their first single "COME HOME" when the track was used in an iPod Touch commercial<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkLF8rEFDps> for Apple's international multi-media ad campaign.
On Moonwater, CHAPPO's electric blend of psychedelic pop, and original, heart-pounding polyrhythmic harmonies help to express vivid lyrics of youthful angst.  Moonwater's music is bold and daring, and embraces the band's truest ambitions.  From the first note, CHAPPO's new album hits the listener with a strong, energetic vibration that runs through the body like a live current.
The album's inspiration also stems from a spiritual and tranquil place.  CHAPPO learned sacred Native American stories and teachings after a chance encounter; therefore, the band created Moonwater to symbolize a conscious state of mind, and aims for the listener to be in the moment with their music.  "We want our music to release the moon shaman within, for ourselves and the listener," says keyboardist Chris Olson.
For the 11-song LP, the four escaped New York City for Sunhouse Studios in the serene landscape of Vermont.  Moonwater was mixed by Hector Castillo (Beck, Bjork) and Steve Wall, and produced by CHAPPO's own drummer and of Montreal's touring musician, Zac Colwell.  A deluxe version of the LP will include four additional bonus tracks that will be available exclusively on iTunes and Vinyl.
During the band's live performances, CHAPPO sports elaborate feathered headdresses and costumes designed by Rawan Rihani.  Their live spectacle is also equipped with sequin-adorned keyboards, and throwing glitter and shooting confetti guns into the crowd.  The band will be taking their live show on the road this week for a four-stop East Coast tour, plus performances at this year's SXSW in Austin, TX.  Tour dates listed below.
