Idle Warship will headline the just-announced BrooklynVegan party this Saturday, October 22nd at Public Assembly in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Presented by Spotify and BrooklynVegan, the free day party, happening during CMJ and jam-packed with music from 14 kick-ass bands, begins at noon. Idle Warship plays at 5pm. A collaboration between hip-hop luminary Talib Kweli and critically acclaimed soulful singer and songwriter Res, Idle Warship is a genre-bending musical project born out of sheer experimentation and unbridled creative expression. Last week, Idle Warship began exclusively streaming their forthcoming album Habits of the Heart on the award-winning, on-demand digital music service Spotify, marking the first time that Spotify U.S. has debuted an album three weeks ahead of its release date. Habits of the Heart is due out November 1st, 2011, via Blacksmith/Element 9/Fontana. The album offers a thrilling hybrid of influences - flashes of soul, hip-hop, rock, alternative and electronic - and features guest spots from Jean Grae, Jay Knocka, Chester French, Michelle Williams & John Forte.
