CAGE THE ELEPHANT * Monday, January 10th @ The Studio at Webster Hall @
8pm

Kentucky rock band Cage The Elephant will be performing new songs live
in New York City for the first time at The Studio at Webster Hall on
Monday, January 10th, one day before their new album Thank You Happy
Birthday, which was just named "one of the best rock albums of the year"
by Alternative Press, is released on Jive, January 11th. Known for their
relentless onstage energy, the band promises to showcase a high octane
performance of gritty punk rock fever, combined with hit songwriting and
melodies that you just can't shake! With more than 400,000 albums sold
of their 2009 debut, 73 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 Chart
under their belt, and now with new single "Shake Me Down" currently at
#3 on Alternative Radio, it's easy to see why Rolling Stone just called
Cage The Elephant "one of rock's best young bands."

GRUFF RHYS * Thursday, January 13th @ Rockwood Music Hall

Gruff Rhys, enigmatic lead singer and songwriter for celebrated Welsh
space rock outfit Super Furry Animals, solo artist, one half of
trans-Atlantic electronic duo Neon Neon and documentarian extraordinaire
is making a return stateside to give NYC a special stripped-down, solo
acoustic set at the Rockwood Music Hall. Eleanor Friedberger (The Fiery
Furnaces) will also be gracing the hall with what is sure to be a
sparkling opening set of solo songs.

At the close of 2010, we were offered a small glimpse of what is to come
on Gruff's recently completed third solo album, Hotel Shampoo, due out
in 2011. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water,
Gruff Rhys surfaced with new song, Shark Ridden Waters and accompanying
video, which premiered on Pitchfork. The record promises to be the Welsh
singer and musician's most ambitious and accomplished yet, filled with
shimmering slices of kaleidoscopic, cinematic pop music.

MONA* Wednesday, January 12 @ Rock Shop

Thursday, January 13 @ Mercury Lounge

Saturday, January 15 @ Union Pool

Nashville's Mona is quickly shaping up to be that band. The NME has
said, "...it appears that in Mona we may have found a big-sounding, big
hearted rock'n'roll band to believe in again." In only a few months
since releasing a single "Listen To Your Love" and "Trouble on The Way"
on their own label 'Zion Noiz Recordings via Rough Trade shops and
independent store across the UK this year, critics and fans haven't
stopped raving. Since then, the gang of four has signed with Mercury
Records in the US, and is set to kick off select winter tour dates in
New York City, Brooklyn, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Mona makes
arm-pumping, vein-throbbing, knee-jittering, raw-throated, sing-a-long
rock n'roll. They have captured the attention of major media outlets
including BBC Radio, who named the band in their Sound of 2011 poll,
MTV, NME, Clash Magazine and Q, all of which named Mona among the top
new bands to watch in 2011. The band performed on UK's Later with Jools
Holland - a rare task for a band who hasn't yet released their debut LP.

THE PIERCES * Thursday, January 13 @ Mercury Lounge

New York City-based duo The Pierces will release their first new
material since 2008 in the form of an EP called the Love You More EP on
January 11th via all digital service providers. In conjunction with
their new EP, The Pierces will also be playing four very special U.S.
shows including a stop at New York City's own Mercury Lounge on
Thursday, January 13. Produced by Coldplay's Guy Berryman, this
four-track collection is a stunning step forward from their
critically-acclaimed sophomore album, Thirteen Tales of Love And
Revenge. The video for "Love You More" can be seen HERE
<http://www.youtube.com/user/thepierces> .

Sun-kissed and reverb-soaked, the songs on the Love You More EP show our
two heroines in their finest form, transplanting their Southern Gothic
country-tinged sound to the California desert. Each song sparkles with
incredible choruses, woozy guitars and keening harmonies, resonating
with the slow, sad beauty of a fading West Coast sunset.
