Hello!
Press Here has some not-to-be-missed shows coming up in NYC. Please let
us know if you would like to check them out!
KATIE COSTELLO @ December 15 @ Rockwood 10PM
Katie Costello is all soulful melody and tapping feet. Exceptionally
sultry and soaring vocals that weave their way into currents of piano,
each tune brimming over with a sound you might expect from times past -
but don't get us wrong, everything about Katie Costello is oh-so-today
and immediately exciting. This incredible artist to watch for 2011 is a
tour de force; whip smart, unbelievably talented, gorgeous and just 19
years old, a dangerously thrilling combo indeed! MusicBleep raves " I
have not been more excited about an artist since Adele" while the Deli
notes that "Katie Costello has captured the hearts of many as of
late...." Don't miss the incredible songstress performing live at the
Rockwood tonight (December 15)! (cara at pressherepublicity.com)
JOHANNA AND THE DUSTY FLOOR * December 16 @ Spike Hill - 11 PM
Johanna And The Dusty Floor is the piano pop project of Australian born
Johanna Cranitch. Now based in NYC, she has released her debut EP The
Forest which is an exciting collection of songs written over a year's
time across the world in places like Italy, Australia and New York.
Depictions of nomadic life take form with quirky electronic beats,
dreamy piano and lush string arrangements supplied by Sarah McCallum and
members of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Through the synthesis of
these sounds Johanna creates an album of heartbreaking harmonies and
gorgeous soundscapes best showcased in the first single "Forest of
Sorrows." The EP makes a lovely introduction to Johanna's rich and ripe
voice, marked by unique tales and compositions. We are thrilled to
present this amazing new talent to you. (inge at pressherepublicity.com)

MNDR * December 17 @ Santos Party House
Both sides of the Atlantic have been ablaze this year with the beats,
the moves, and the music of MNDR - a.k.a. Amanda Warner. Amanda's
incredible melodic sense and underground noise and art influences
coupled with producer/co-writer Peter Wade's non-traditional sounds and
polished songcraft prove to be a perfect marriage of minds. On stage
Amanda's fearless individuality and fierce dance moves are a force to be
reckoned with as she belts out their undeniably addictive hits. Add
their original audio reactive visuals into the mix (commissioned by MNDR
from visual artist Jamie Carreiro), and you've got one electrifying
show. MNDR has received early praise from The Fader, The New York Times,
Pitchfork, Paper and Interview, headlined shows in the US and the UK,
opened for Miike Snow and Massive Attack, and performed around the globe
with Mark Ronson and The Business INTL whom MNDR collaborated with on
ice cool summer hit "Bang Bang Bang." MNDR is nearing the completion of
the first full length album for a Spring/Summer 2011 release.

Recent media praise for MNDR:
"Right now MNDR <http://www.myspace.com/mndrtronica> is our favorite
electronic pop singer/producer and gear head who crafts effervescent
jams we simply cannot shake from our brains..." - FADER
"The one-person dance machine Amanda Warner, who unlike the other acts
on the bill, had no interest in obscuring anything. Her music was blunt
and ecstatic, an antidote to boys in hiding." New York Times
"...she can build you an amp out of spare parts and then blast all
manner of engrossing egghead dance-floor ephemera through it. Here's
your Lady Gaga <http://www.villagevoice.com/related/to/Lady+Gaga> in
training, if she doesn't morph into something weirder, flashier,
better." - Village Voice
"MNDR has given electro the kiss of life."- NME
