(Los Angeles, CA - March 3, 2015) - Last night, Latina supermodel, actress, businesswoman, and philanthropist Patricia Velasquez celebrated the release of her memoir Straight Walk: A Supermodel's Journey To Finding Her Truth (out now via Post Hill Press) with a fabulous party at Teddy's in the legendary Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles.

The historic hotel, which hosted the inaugural Academy Awards in 1929 and welcomed renowned icons, including Marilyn Monroe, was the perfect setting for this spectacular celebration whose notable attendees included actors Ryan Phillippe, Will Kemp, Anne Ramsay, Clifton Collins, Jr., Hemky Madera, and Ian Buchanan, actress and musician Rain Phoenix, Mexican actress Marlene Favela, Mexican actress and dancer Adriana Fonseca, Venezuelan actress and singer Maria Gabriela De Faria, and Reality TV Personality Joyce Giraud.

In Straight Walk, Velasquez recalls firsthand her remarkable career, which landed her on runways and countless magazine covers around the world, and her compelling coming out story for the first time ever. While poignantly recounting how she worked to lift her family out of poverty, Patricia shares a message of compassion and acceptance, hoping to empower others to realize their own potential.

About Patricia Velasquez

Patricia Velasquez was a runway model for Chanel, Gucci, and Carolina Herrera. She is also a UNESCO Artist for Peace and has been frequently recognized for her charity work by multiple organizations including the United Nations.
