Day Wave - a.k.a. Jackson Phillips - has slowly rolled out incredibly dreamy, indie-pop singles over the past few months, and today he announces his eagerly anticipated debut EP entitled Headcase. Featuring two previously unheard tracks, the EP will be self-released on July 17th and is the perfect introduction to one of the most exciting up-and-coming artists/producers making music right now. Headcase also includes Day Wave's single "Drag," which debuted at #9 on Sirius Alt Nation's Alt 18 this week. Since the release of his first single in Fall 2014, Day Wave has been spun on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic, as well as KEXP and WXPN, hit #1 Artist and Top 10 Track on Hype Machine, soundtracked an Urban Outfitters video<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cs0Jhh24t4>, cracked over 1 million SoundCloud streams, and was added to the Sirius XMU as well as Alt Nation playlist where he debuted on the Alt 18 in the Top 10. In just a few months - and with only three released songs until today - the Oakland-based 25-year-old has made quite a name for himself with his effortlessly beautiful and sun-tinged music.
