Lauded Swedish 5-Piece to play at NYC’s CMJ in October & at The Echo in Los Angeles on November 3rd

The 7” will also include B-side track “Pirate.”

After months of blog love and radio play from the likes of KCRW and KEXP, Amason are heading to New York City for CMJ in October (21st – 25th) and will be performing LIVE on John Richard’s KEXP Morning Show from the Cutting Room in Manhattan on October 22nd at Noon EST/9am Pacific. The band will also perform a free show in Los Angeles at The Echo on November 3rd.

Described by many as a “Swedish Supergroup”, Amason are the collective talents of Petter Winnberg (Little Majorette) and Pontus Winnberg (Miike Snow), Gustav Ejstes (Dungen), Nils Törnqvist (Little Majorette) and Amanda Bergman (Hajen, Idiot Wind). The first song to hit the Swedish airwaves, “Margins,” was soon followed by a self-entitled EP released in August 2013 on Stockholm-based INGRID, complete with single “Went to War.” In February 2014, Amason released “Ålen” (The Eel).

Having arrived in a collective sonic space, Amason all hopped aboard a vehicle, with their past paths and divergent musical tastes thrown into the mix. A sound created out of collaboration, with each member inhabiting an equally important space. These simpatico souls share the creative ground as Scandinavians share their land. With lyrics in both their native Swedish and the Swedish musical language of choice, English, Amason create in the moment, record almost instantaneously, and soon after scan the horizons for a stage, where the music truly comes alive, where they can share their collected collective moments.

Amason’s debut album, Sky City, is due for worldwide release in early 2015 on Fairfax Recordings/INGRID.
