Newport Folk Festival to Pitch Its Tent on the West Coast!

Newport Folk Presents WAY OVER YONDER

Will feature performances by 18 artists including Newport Folk alumni Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes, Neko Case, Brett Dennen, First Aid Kit, Shovels & Rope, Justin Townes Earle, Calexico and many more!

The Newport Folk Festival, America's original music festival, follows Route 66 all the way across the country this fall to Santa Monica, CA for the inaugural edition of WAY OVER YONDER.

Founded in 1959 by famed festival producer George Wein and folk icon Pete Seeger, Newport Folk Festival, long a favorite summer stop for musicians and fans alike, continues in the forefront of live music events, for the last five years under the stewardship of producer Jay Sweet. In February, it received the Best Music Festival award by Pollstar, the concert industry trade publication, and returns to Fort Adams Park in Rhode Island this July with headliners Beck, the Lumineers, Feist, and the Avett Brothers. WAY OVER YONDER is another step in Newport Folk's journey as a national treasure.

WAY OVER YONDER brings the same spirit west and will feature two stages on the historic and picturesque Santa Monica Pier, a perfect bookend to Newport Folk's primary location on the New England shore.
