Los Angeles, CA – January 9, 2013 – Grammy-nominated recording artist Matisyahu is releasing his first-ever acoustic recordings, Spark Seeker: Acoustic Sessions, in advance of his upcoming US acoustic tour. On January 29th the six-track EP will be available on Amazon and iTunes via Fallen Sparks Records/Thirty Tigers. It features acoustic variations of songs from his fourth full-length album Spark Seeker, which was released in July 2012. The EP also has a bonus track, “Silence” from Matisyahu’s third album Light, exclusively on iTunes.

The tracks on Spark Seeker: Acoustic Sessions include live performances from his 2012 Festival of Light tour, which made stops in select cities on each night of Hanukkah. “Live Like a Warrior” and “I Believe in Love” were both recorded at the show in Stroudsburg, PA; “Sunshine,” “Searchin,” and “Bal Shem Tov” in Atlanta, GA. “Crossroads” and “Silence” were filmed while on tour in Lake Tahoe, NV and Hudson, NY, respectively.

“The music that emitted from Center Stage that night was nothing short of breathtaking,” the Atlanta Music Guide said of his acoustic show. “As Matisyahu sang/rapped/beatboxed songs like ‘Obstacles’ and ‘Crossroads’, the acoustic set further highlighted his lyrical creativity and musical prowess.”

In November, Matisyahu gave the world a taste of his acoustic sound in a video of “Crossroads”, an outtake from Spark Seeker: Acoustic Sessions filmed while on tour in Lake Tahoe. PRESS HERE<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh8SDr6JdCE&feature=youtu.be> to watch it! Over the years, fans and critics alike have praised Matisyahu for his performances; rave reviews describe Matisyahu's voice and stage presence as "tremendous, zen-like, and enlightening."

Matisyahu returns to the road on January 19th for the “Acoustic Evening with Matisyahu” tour. The limited run of special shows will provide fans with a unique, in-depth look at the creation and background of Matisyahu’s most recent album, Spark Seeker, as well as his entire catalogue of music, including hit songs "One Day", "King Without A Crown", and fan favorite "Jerusalem". It will provide fans an opportunity to ask the artist questions, as well as an intimate setting for Matisyahu to tell stories of his artistic and spiritual journey.
