Los Angeles, CA (August 15, 2013) - The 29th Annual Twilight Concert Series has continued to bring out massive crowds of 12,000+ attendees to the Santa Monica Pier all summer long, and will continue this week with 80s New Wave by The English Beat tonight, August 15th at 7pm with Maxwell Smart and Troup as support. This week Myspace will host a .gif photo booth at the pier that will be open to all concert attendees (on a first come, first served basis.)

The English Beat achieved great success over their 30-year career with several singles charting in the British top 10. The band also toured the world with such artists as David Bowie, The Police, REM, The Clash, The Talking Heads, The Pretenders, and The Specials. Lead vocalist and the remaining touring member, Dave Wakeling, is known as the "elder statesman of ska" to fans who have either followed the band, and have fallen in love with the nostalgic "golden era" of new wave.

LA's own ska band Maxwell Smart first entered the scene in 2007 and quickly put out two albums after the release of his debut EP. They have also been invited to play events such as "Ska in the Park" and "Warped Tour." LA up-and-comer Troup won Rusty's annual Emerging Artist Competition in a formidable multi-round battle for the chance to open at the Twilight Concerts.

The Twilight Concert Series has showcased astounding performers in the first five weeks of the 2013 festival.
