KASABIAN * April 17th @ The Music Box

[Comp2s- Dean Chalkey LR.jpg]UK rock sensation Kasabian are performing Tuesday, April 17th at The Music Box as part of their first North American tour in five years. The sold out show is happening in conjunction with the band's latest studio album Velociraptor!, which debuted at #1 in the UK last fall. Their LA performance is part of their nearly 20-city tour with performances at Coachella and SXSW. The band is also set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! April 19th. This is one show you don't want to miss!

MADISON VIOLET * April 9th @ Hotel Café (8pm)

[BrenleyLisa_MadisonViolet.JPG]Acclaimed Canadian roots duo Madison Violet will be playing music from their new album, The Good in Goodbye, at Hotel Café on Monday, April 9th. A beautiful collection of songs inspired by the end of the duo’s ten year romantic relationship, The Good in Goodbye finds Brenley and Lisa at their musical best. Released via True North Records on March 27th, the album is receiving pracise across the globe included a nomination for a 2012 East Coast Music Award for Folk Recording of the Year as well as a sold-out UK tour in support of the album’s release. Since releasing their last album, No Fool for Trying (2009), Madison Violet took home the 2009 Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year, a 2010 JUNO Award nomination for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year (Group), and won the 2009 John Lennon Songwriting Contest for their track “The Ransom.”  The Good in Goodbye captures the duo’s growth and musical maturity. Their distinct take on iconic Americana-inspired up-tempo melodies beautifully contrasts with their breathtakingly sweeping and personal lyrics, creating songs that blend nods to Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch with radio-friendly flecks of The Band Perry. THE PIERCES * TOMORROW, April 5th @ Troubadour

[Pierces-general 1-Andrew Zaeh-for email]The Alabama-bred sisters and singer/songwriter duo, The Pierces, who released their fourth studio album You & I on Mercury Records last week, will be making a stop in LA tomorrow night at the Troubadour. Allison and Catherine, who are known for their irresistible, magnetic vocal harmonies, have created an album that is true to their innately cool, singer-songwriter roots, and heralds an exciting new chapter in the Pierces’ story. The album, which was produced by Grammy Award® winners Guy Berryman (Coldplay bassist) and Rik Simpson (Coldplay producer), debuted at #4 on the UK album chart upon its release last year and the song “Drag You Down” has already been featured for ABC’s newest hit, Revenge.
