Hindi Zahra Handmade Listening Party

Hindi Zahra will be hosting a listening party for her debut album Handmade (out October 11 on Naïve) at Santa Monica's Zanzibar on September 29 from 9-10 PM PST, c0-hosted by Jeremy Sole of KCRW. As part of the Africa LIVE! Series, Afro Funke brings Afrobeats, Brazilian, reggae, funk and other world music to the Zanzibar.

After the album's worldwide release in 2010, Handmade captured audiences with Hindi's sultry yet delicate melodies, ultimately taking the Prix Constantin (France's Mercury Prize) in 2010. Handmade is receiving early acclaim stateside, and was recently named one of the most anticipated albums for the Fall by New York Magazine. Her music is part blues, part jazz, and a dash of gypsy, exhibiting the myriad of colorful influences of Hindi's past and present.

Hindi will also be touring the US for the first time this Fall in support of Handmade, with stops in cities across the country including Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, and Chicago, culminating in performances at CMJ in NYC. Full list of dates below!
