Hello LA!
Press Here has some great bands in the LA area this week. Check them out!

ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK (OMD) * House of Blues (Anaheim) TONIGHT, October 6th
Club Nokia (Los Angeles) TOMORROW, October 7th
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, one of the UK's most iconic synth-pop bands, are making their way through the Los Angeles area this week with shows in Anaheim at the House of Blues TONIGHT (10/6) and in Los Angeles at Club Nokia TOMORROW (10/7). These electrifying shows feature the original OMD lineup of Andy McCluskey, Paul Humphreys, Martin Cooper (keyboards) and Malcolm Holmes (drums). OMD is touring in support of History of Modern (Bright Antenna), their first new album in over a decade. Their newest collection proves they still have a way with a catchy melody and witty lyric; forever slaves to the pop song. Check out a performance of their new hit, "New Babies; New Toys" at InterviewMagazine.com HERE<http://www.interviewmagazine.com/blogs/music/2011-08-16/video-premiere-new-babies-new-toys-omd/> and a remix of their tune "Sister Marie Says" at RollingStone.com HERE<http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/omd-gear-up-for-round-two-of-u-s-tour-20110930>.

Praise for OMD:
"Cause for exaltation" - NPR

"Synth pop icons re-emerge with '80s allure intact...Andy McCluskey's ageless croon still conjures ghosts in the synth pop machinery, as vintage Mellotrons weep quasi-operatic tears." - SPIN

"It may have been their first tour of the U.S. in 23 years, but OMD still sounded as remarkably fresh as they did at their mid-1980s peak..." - Boston Globe

"... truly the feel good show of the day." (SXSW) - Yahoo!

WIM (Modular Recordings) * Taix TOMORROW, October 7th
Australia's latest import, WIM will be hitting the stage TOMORROW (10/7) at Taix in Los Angeles as part of Filter Magazine's Culture Collide Festival! This unique Sydney-based five-piece -which will be releasing their self-titled debut on November 15th-- creates beautifully dense and catchy tunes, filled with lush harmonies, reverb-drenched guitars and colossal choruses. Live, their tripartite frontline dazzles with the twin attacks of a floor tom-pounding keyboardist and bow-strumming guitarist. This is all instantly crystallized in a vocalist whose spine-tingling falsettos are as reliable as his not wearing shoes. You do not want to miss out on this swoon-worthy performance in LA!
