Like a modern day Stevie Nicks with a knack for lyrical storytelling, tons of Southern California charm, only raised on hip hop,  "Brainwash" is the first taste of music from Cillie Barnes's upcoming debut collection of songs, 'Happy Valley,' slated for release in Spring 2013 via Loma Vista Recordings.

CILLIE BARNES (aka Vanessa Long) had quite the unruly upbringing. Growing up the daughter of a convicted bank robber father and art teacher mother in Newport Beach, she moved to Los Angeles at age 17 settling in the famed mystical 'Happy Valley' neighborhood, and never looked back. Collaborations with her musical co-conspirator, Joe Keefe (Family of the Year) and jam sessions with the members of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Dawes allowed Cillie to settle beautifully into making her signature, self-proclaimed brand of "gyp pop" music - a unique mix of gyspy pop, hip hop, and folk.
