The 3rd biggest single of 2013 in the Netherlands, with over 8 million streams on Spotify and 5.1 million views on YouTube, “WAVES” by Dutch artist MR. PROBZ can be easily classified as one of the biggest hits of 2013. And like most killer originals, it’s the one standout remix – in this case, by ROBIN SCHULZ – that brings a new wave of life and success into the already hit track.

What was once a bootleg remix, the ROBIN SCHULZ take on MR. PROBZ – “WAVES” has just recently rocked the top 100 on Beatport, climbing to #6 on the overall chart and #2 on the highly competitive deep house chart after its release just 2 weeks ago. Even prior to the official release, the track amassed a wild 1.5 million plays on Soundcloud and 2 million views on YouTube.

And now, after generating a massive buzz, the track’s official music video has been released to the world via VEVO. Shot in beautiful Tulum, Mexico, the music video for MR. PROBZ – “WAVES” (ROBIN SCHULZ REMIX) features Victoria’s Secret model, Maryna Linchuk.

About MR. PROBZ
When you think of The Netherlands, many things come to mind.  Of course, there's Amsterdam's renowned nightlife and the legacy of artists such as Vincent Van Gogh and Rembrandt, to name just a few examples. However, you don't automatically associate this rich history with hip-hop. That's about to change. Artist, producer, singer, and songwriter Mr. Probz emerges from The Netherlands with an impactful voice and resounding message. Already, he's been tapped by the likes of Royce da 5'9", Joe Budden, Action Bronson and Lloyd Banks for collaborations and has become a chart-topper back home. He's got his sights set on the rest of the world now.

Growing up outside of Amsterdam, Mr. Probz found music at a young age. He immersed himself everything from DMX and Wu-Tang Clan to Nirvana, rapping at 15-years-old and writing rhymes constantly. Rising through the national ranks, in 2013, the self-taught impresario's and independently released single "Waves" reached #1 on the country's Top Songs Chart. Tragedy struck shortly thereafter though.
"My house burned down a week after the song dropped," he admits. "It was the weirdest thing. I was left with one trash bag full of my things and a box of papers, but the single went to number one.”
Soon after DJ’s started to take notice and numerous bootleg remixes were taking clubs around the world by storm. German DJ Robin Schulz's bootleg remix quickly became a crowd favorite. In no time, it racked up 1.5 million Soundcloud streams and 2 million-plus views on YouTube without having an official release.
“Then, I met with Ultra, and how things worked out was like a fairy tale," Probz continues.
He signed a deal with Ultra Music, and "Waves" saw its formal release stateside in 2014. Coasting along on lithe keys and an elegant beat, the track takes flight on his vulnerable, yet soulful delivery. Probz also reached out to Robin Schulz in order to officially release this bootleg remix that has been lighting up audiences everywhere.
"Waves" also opens the gates to his forthcoming full-length debut for the label, which takes music down a whole new path. About his vision, he goes on, "It's authentic. That's basically it. I don't know what's going to come out of me. I do everything on gut feeling, and I always follow my instincts. My roots are hip-hop, but it's about the translation. I can go in any direction. I want to create something durable that lasts a long time."
His music most certainly will last, “Waves” reached multi-platinum status closing 2013 as the third biggest single in the Netherlands, just behind Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” & Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” making Mr. Probz a household name on national TV & radio.

"My songs are like photos or captured moments," he concludes. "I'll try to tell or describe a certain story without too many words. I like to leave it open for your interpretation. I want to inspire and ignite emotion."
