Jagwar Ma Announce Debut Album
Mom+Pop To Digitally Release Eagerly Anticipated LP Howlin' June 11th 2013; First US Shows Confirmed For Fall

Sydney Australia's Jagwar Ma are on a mission to re-create a two man wall of sound. Comprising the talents of Jono Ma and vocalist Gabriel Winterfield, Jagwar Ma's captivating debut album Howlin' is an endlessly inventive debut packed with deliriously catchy ear-worms and a kaleidoscopic blend of shimmering beach pop, psych synths and electronic beats.

A physical release will follow in the States on August 13th. Following on from dates opening up for The XX in Australia, the band will play their first ever North American live dates this Fall. Like all great things of the modern age Jagwar Ma's talents weren't secret for long. By the power of the internet the band received worldwide attention for their early tracks. "Come Save Me" was released on fledgling UK based vinyl label The Blue Rider and in a matter of weeks became the #1 Most Played Track on Australia's triple j Radio. Within a few weeks the rest of the globe began to catch on, with the UK's BBC Radio1 adding it to the playlist, California's veritable KCRW picking up the cause and astute music critics in the US waxing lyrical about its allure. Some described it as "sounding like J-Dilla playing Primal Scream covering the Beatles."

With the first fruits of their labors Jono and Gabriel headed to France to record Howlin'. With help from friends, locals and a pre-historic desk once used by Conny Plank, they re-invented the warmth, harmony and audio sunshine of their native Oz. Their collaborators along the way included long-time friend Warpaint drummer, Stella Mozgawa and renowned DJ and producer, Ewan Pearson on mixing duties.  The first release from these sessions, "The Throw,”   joyful seven minutes weaving melodies and beats with the sole purpose of making people move, was named Pitchfork's Best New Track back in January. Since then, anticipation has increased with every remix, mix tape and new track the band have made available. Their rapidly expanding fanbase won't be disappointed. Howlin’ is the most exciting debut album of 2013.
