The Limousines<http://thelimousines.com/> continue to push their tastemaker-lauded album, Hush (out now independently), with today's release of the music video for their gritty new wave single "Love is a Dog From Hell!" The video for the track, whose title takes its inspiration from a poem written by the infamous author Charles Bukowski, was shot in the Bay Area by director Frank Door who created a modern day film noir world by capturing the duo in all black and white images. The video showcases the guys in their element - skateboarding, hanging with half naked girls in rad leather jackets and sexy high heels, setting fire to keyboards, and smoking A LOT of cigarettes.
"Love is a Dog from Hell," which has garnered praise from Idolator, Spotify, Alt Press and more, has also received spins on AOL/Slacker Radio, San Francisco's KITS FM, Sacramento's KKDO FM and is now charting on Sirius/XM's Alt Nation's Top 20.
The Bay Area natives will also be playing a nearly SOLD OUT hometown show at The Blank Club in San Jose, CA on THIS Friday, June 28th, marking their return to their old California stomping grounds. The duo will also play an exclusive DJ set at LA CANVAS Magazine and Wasteland Clothing's "The Dive Club" @ The Hollywood Roosevelt on August 10th with Keith 2.0 and addition al special guests!
On Hush, The Limos' branch out of their familiar ultra-catchy new wave sound, and experiment more with disco, funk, trap and darker trip-hop elements. Funky and soulful guitar riffs - similar to Daft Punk's earlier work - lace the pair's track "Undercover." "GRB 09042" is the album's quintessential deep cut that is comprised of mostly instrumentals and is driven by sultry trip-hop groove. Hush's most emotional tune is "Haunted," which incorporates steel drums and gives the record a lush Caribbean zouk flavor. The album was produced by The Limos' own multi-instrumentalist Giovanni Giusti and was mastered by Karen Thompson (Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding). All songs were co-written by Giusti and lead singer Eric Victorino.
