The Knocks' Magic EP Debuts in Top 10 on iTunes Dance Chart

First Headlining Shows of 2012 Announced

NYC-based producers turned electro-hip-pop duo The Knocks released their new Magic EP (A&M/Octone) yesterday, debuting inthe Top 10 on the iTunes Dance Chart in the company of Skrillex, Deadmau5, Kaskade and David Guetta. Now, they are announcing their first live dates of 2012. The Knocks will play a run of select headlining dates this January, presented by BroBible.com, before heading out on the high seas for the Weezer Cruise from January 19-23. The duo is about to wrap up shows with DJ Shadow in the UK where they have been setting off massive dance parties. They will then return to New York City for an electrifying New Year's Eve DJ set at the Gansevoort Park Avenue.

Since lead single "Brightside" shot to #1 on Hype Machine's Twitter Chart in October , The Knockshave debuted the "Brightside" video<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dItMzMXCfKE> for the song on Vevo, premiered the EP's title track on NylonMag.com (where it became the most-streamed song ever on Nylon's Soundcloud) and gave us all an early listen with a full stream<http://filtermagazine.com/index.php/media/entry/listen_the_knocks_make_way_for_the_brightside_filter_exclusive> of Magic on FilterMagazine.com.  With a nu-disco vibe, club-friendly beats, glorious choruses and piano hooks, the duo - Ben "B-Roc" Ruttner and James "JPatt" Patterson - makes electronic music sound organic, installing a soul amongst all the ones and zeros, it's no wonder why The Knocks have been setting the dance circuit, the blogosphere, and now the iTunes Dance Chart abuzz.

Shortly after the NME declared The Knocks to be one of the "20 hottest producers in music" for their versatile production and remix work for the likes of Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Foster The People, Chiddy Bang and Katy Perry, the NME was once again singing The Knocks' praises, this time for their own songs, saying that they have "stepped out from behind the desk to rebirth the Superstar DJ."
