On the heels of the "Brightside" video premiere<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dItMzMXCfKE> on Vevo yesterday, NYC-based producers turned electro-hip-pop duo The Knocks are giving us an early listen to their new six-song EP today. Featuring production by Victor Van Vugt (Fischerspooner, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave), Fab Dupont (Shakira, Mark Ronson, Jennifer Lopez), and Gary Go (Benny Benassi), the Magic EP makes it easy to see why The Knocks have been setting the dance circuit and the blogosphere abuzz. With a nu-disco vibe, club-friendly beats, glorious choruses and piano hooks, the duo - Ben "B-Roc" Ruttner and James "JPatt" Patterson - makes electronic music sound organic, installing a soul amongst all the ones and zeros.

Shortly after the NME declared The Knocks to be one of the "20 hottest producers in music" for their versatile production and remix work for the likes of Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Foster The People, Chiddy Bang and Katy Perry, the NME was once again singing The Knocks' praises, this time for their own songs, saying that they have "stepped out from behind the desk to rebirth the Superstar DJ." Lead single "Brightside" from the Magic EP immediately climbed to the Top 5 on Hype Machine and #1 on the Hype Machine Twitter Chart when the band leaked it in October.  EP title track "Magic," featuring British singer/producer Gary Go, recently premiered on NylonMag.com, where it became the most-streamed song ever on Nylon's Soundcloud.

The Knocks are currently on the road in the UK for a run of shows with DJ Shadow and will head out on the high seas for the Weezer Cruise from January 19-23. Watch this space for an upcoming announcement of new North American dates!
